Powerboat Charter is a division of Powerboat Italia, a leading company in the Italian nautical industry since 1980.
What additional services does Powerboat Charter provide?
In addition to private boat tours and rentals, we also manage a marina and a shipyard, providing high-level maintenance and docking services.
Are the boats owned by Powerboat Charter?
Yes, all our boats are company-owned, ensuring the highest standards in maintenance, safety, and service.
Are the skippers employed by Powerboat Charter?
Yes, all our skippers are direct employees, carefully selected for their expertise, professionalism, and local knowledge.
How is the insurance coverage for the boats?
All our boats are fully insured with policies that comply with maritime regulations for private charters and rental activities.
PRICING & FUEL POLICY
Are taxes included in the price?
Yes, all our boat rental prices and any additional extras are fully inclusive of all taxes. The total amount you see in your booking confirmation is the final price, with no additional tax charges.
Is fuel included in the tour price?

Yes, fuel is included for tours limited to the Gulf of Naples area and for private transfer services.

No, for all other tours, fuel is not included. You can find an estimate of fuel costs on our dedicated fuel cost page.
Why is fuel not included in all tours?
✔ Maximum Flexibility – Our tours are customizable, allowing you to modify the itinerary at any time. Not including fuel gives you the freedom to extend your trip or add extra destinations.
✔ Cost Transparency – Fuel prices fluctuate. By keeping fuel separate, you pay the actual consumption cost at the time of your tour, avoiding markups.
✔ Customer Protection – If you cancel your tour, you don’t pay for unused fuel, offering better flexibility in case of last-minute changes.
DEPARTURE & TRANSPORTATION
Where are the boats moored?
All our boats are located at Powerboat Italia Marina in Naples – Santa Lucia, one of the most prestigious marinas in the area.
From which ports can we depart?
While Naples – Santa Lucia is our main departure point (included in the price), we also offer pickups and drop-offsfrom:
📍 Capri (€100 docking fee)
📍 Positano (€150 docking fee)
📍 Sorrento, Ischia, Procida, Amalfi, and Nerano (cost varies by location)
If you need private transportation to and from the port, we can arrange this for you.
Do you provide ground transportation?
Yes, we offer a complimentary transfer for up to 4 guests within Naples using our Tesla Model Y. For larger groups or transfers to other destinations, contact us for a custom solution.
EXPERIENCE ON BOARD
What languages do the skippers speak?
All our skippers are fluent in Italian, English, Spanish and French. Please indicate your language preference when booking.
Are the skippers also tour guides?
No, our skippers are not certified tour guides, but they have extensive knowledge of the area and can provide interesting information during the tour. If you require a professional guide, we can arrange one upon request.
Can we explore destinations on foot?
Yes, you can disembark to explore cities, but docking fees apply (e.g., €100 in Capri, €150 in Positano). If you prefer, you can stay on board and enjoy the view instead.
Can we request a customized itinerary?
Absolutely! Contact us, and we’ll create a tailor-made itinerary based on your preferences, including custom departure times and destinations.
Are your boats available as tenders for yachts?
Yes, we offer our boats as tenders for super yachts. Contact us for further details.
WHAT TO BRING & ONBOARD SERVICES
What should we bring?
We recommend:
✔ Hat with a visor, sunglasses, and light-colored sunscreen (dark sunscreen can stain boat upholstery).
✔ Windbreaker or light jacket during spring/autumn months.
Can we bring food and drinks on board?
Yes, but we kindly ask guests to avoid red wine or other dark-colored drinks, which may stain the boat’s upholstery.
Do you provide towels?
Yes, we provide beach towels, as well as other amenities, including snacks and beverages.
Do you provide lunch on board?

Seaside Restaurant Experience – Enjoy a meal at a stunning waterfront restaurant (cost not included). If disembarkation is required via tender to a restaurant or beach club, no docking fee applies. However, it is customary to tip the boatman, typically around €20.

Light Lunch on Board – Upon request, we can provide a traditional cold Italian-style lunch featuring fresh mozzarella, assorted cheeses, ham, tomatoes, bread, and fruit. If no lunch is requested, only snacks will be provided.
What drinks are included?

Do you provide water toys?
✔ Noodles – Always available
✔ Seabob & Paddleboard – Available upon request (pre-booking recommended) - If provided, the Charterer must adhere to usage rules and accept full responsibility for their use. The Owner is absolved of any liability for accidents or damage resulting from their use.
Do you provide snorkeling equipment?
Yes, complimentary snorkeling gear is available upon request. Please provide your size in advance.
Are the boats child-friendly?
Yes! Our boats are safe and comfortable for children. All vessels are equipped with life jackets for both adults and kids. Parents must supervise their children at all times.
PLANNING YOUR TOUR
What is the best time to sail?
✔ Swimming season: April – October
✔ Best time for a full-day tour: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
✔ Winter tours: Operate year-round(we recommend an earlier departure, such as 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
✔ Sunset cruises: A stunning way to enjoy the Mediterranean at golden hour
How many swim stops can we make?
We typically plan at least two swim stops, but the number can be adjusted based on your preferences.
Can I extend the duration of the tour?
Our tours have a fixed duration from the moment we leave the port until we return and the clients disembark. If availability allows, extra hours can be added to the scheduled tour at the following rates:

Accessibility – Can wheelchair users join the tours?
Although our boats allow wheelchair access, we only recommend our tours for guests without fully disabling conditions. The unpredictability of sea movement can make the experience tiring for those with severely reduced mobility.

What is the luggage policy?
Each guest may bring one large suitcase and one small bag. The maximum total capacity is 8 large suitcases and 8 small bags.
Can I bring professional cameras or drones?
Yes, guests are allowed to bring professional cameras and drones. There are no restrictions, but please note:

Guests are fully responsible for their equipment.

Takeoff and landing a drone on a boat can be very challenging, so proceed with caution.
Is Wi-Fi available everywhere?
Wi-Fi is available on all boats. However, in some areas, the signal may be lost due to limited coverage at sea.
Can I smoke on the boat?
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the boat. However, you may smoke on the swimming platform, at your own risk, while ensuring no cigarette butts or ash pollute the sea.
What happens if minor damages occur during navigation?
Any minor damage that does not affect the primary service (e.g., the continuation of a daily tour) will not impact the terms of the contract or the price.
Can we modify the number of guests on board after booking?
The maximum number of guests is confirmed at the time of booking.

Additional guests beyond the agreed number or exceeding the boat's capacity will not be accepted.

If the number of guests changes, you must contact Powerboat Charter before the service to update the booking within the boat’s maximum legal capacity.
Can I sub-rent the boat?
No, sub-renting or transferring the rental to third parties is strictly prohibited.
Can I wear shoes on board?
Shoes are not allowed on the boat. You may stay barefoot or wear rubber-soled shoes that have never been used outside the boat.
Is the boat’s toilet the same as a regular home or hotel toilet?
No. Boat toilets are more delicate than home or hotel toilets.
🚫 Do not dispose of paper or any other materials in the toilet.
✔ Use the designated bins instead.
Can I enter the cabin while wet?
🚫 No! Entering the cabins while wet, salty, or sandy is strictly prohibited.
Can I take the leftover food and drinks from the boat after the tour?
The included provisions (snacks, soft drinks, local beer, wine, and water) are available for consumption during the rental period.
Guests are encouraged to avoid waste, in respect for the environment and sustainability.At the end of the rental, any unused items must remain on board and cannot be taken away except for the Premium Beverages paid as extra.
Can we bring pets?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on board. If you are traveling with a pet, contact us, and we will try to find a suitable alternative.
BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY
How do I book?
✔ Book online through our "Book Now" section with a 30% deposit
✔ Cancellation policy: Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the tour
✔ If you need a custom itinerary, contact us, and we’ll send you a personalized offer with a booking link.
What happens if the weather is bad?
✔ Full refund for cancellations due to unsafe sea conditions
✔ We recommend booking early in your stay to allow for rescheduling if needed
What is your refund policy?
✔ 100% refund with 48 hours’ notice
✔ Full refund if we cancel due to weather or operational reasons
✔ No-shows will be charged the full price
Are gratuities expected?
✔ Tips are not mandatory, but it is customary to leave a recognition proportional to the dedication and effortdemonstrated by the skipper during the tour.

Sanitation & Hygiene

All boats are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each tour, with special attention to high-touch surfaces.

Beach towels, bathroom towels, bed linens, and cushions are sanitized between tours to guarantee maximum hygiene.
Safety Equipment & Procedures

Each boat is equipped with life jackets for all passengers, including children, and all legally required safety equipment for private boat tours and rentals.

Additional onboard safety features include an inflatable life raft, an AIS satellite tracking system, and an advanced fire suppression system.

Weather & Sea Conditions

We continuously monitor weather and sea conditions to ensure safe navigation. If needed, we may modify the itinerary or reschedule the tour.
