How to Reach the Towns from the Port
Marina Grande (Capri port) is well connected to the two towns on the island:
• Capri
• Anacapri
Both can be reached by taxi, public bus, or (in the case of Capri town) by funicular railway.
The distance between the disembarkation point and the taxi rank / funicular station is 4 minutes walk (300 meters).
However, during high season, there may be some queue for taxis or the funicular at the port. Even though the actual ride is short, it is wise to allow approximately 30 minutes to reach the town center.

Reach Capri Town
Capri is the more glamorous and lively of the two towns. It is often chosen for:
• Luxury boutiques
• Elegant restaurants
• The Gardens of Augustus
• The scenic walk to Punta Tragara
It can be reached from the port by taxi, bus, or funicular.
Approximate costs:
Taxi to Capri town: €20–25
Funicular: €2.40 per person
The funicular is the most economical option and takes only a few minutes, though it may have a queue in peak season.
Public buses are available but often not recommended in peak season due to long queues and crowded conditions.
Reach Anacapri
Anacapri is more peaceful and authentic. It offers:
• The chairlift to Monte Solaro, the highest point of the island, with breathtaking panoramic views
• Local artisan shops
• Traditional restaurants
Anacapri can be reached by taxi or bus. The taxi fare is usually higher than Capri town because it is farther away.
Public buses are available but often not recommended in peak season due to long queues and crowded conditions.
Returning to the Port
Queues to return to the port are usually shorter, especially if guests choose to take a taxi. The taxi will drop them directly back at Marina Grande touristic port, a few steps from where the yacht will be waiting.
Private Transportation Alternatives
For guests who prefer greater comfort and efficiency, private transportation can be arranged in advance:
• Pre-booked private car to reach Capri or Anacapri: approximately €100 one way
• Private van for island touring: approximately €180 per hour (minimum 2 hours in high season)
This option is particularly useful if guests wish to visit both Capri and Anacapri within the same stop. Advance reservation is strongly recommended, especially during high season.
We are always happy to assist in coordinating transportation if desired, but the land visit itself remains independent, while the yacht and skipper remain at the port awaiting your return.
